In 2014 Kapiti Coast District Libraries (KCDL) established a Digital Services Team.  One of their goals was to establish a Learning Centre at Paraparaumu Library to help increase digital literacy in their community.  Achieving this goal by 2015, KCDL then approached the Stepping UP programme following positive discussions with existing Stepping UP partner Hutt City Libraries.

KCDL Digital Services Coordinator, Jeremy Langley, worked with Di Daniels and Shona Te Huki from the 2020 Trust in developing the partnership, then Stepping UP Product Manager Sue Kini supported Jeremy and his team through the administrative process.

Teamwork now completed means trainers Darren McBride and Mallory Matt-Muller are focusing on five Digital Steps each term.  This term they provided classes in Computer Basics, Word 1 & 2, Google and the Internet and Employment 2 (finding a job online) with 88% of participants finding the information useful to their needs!

Stepping UP is really pleased to have such an enthusiastic and forward-thinking partner on board and we look forward to working with you well into the future.
