Stepping UP has had a very successful year in many different ways. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback from delivery partners, trainers and participants and we’ve heard outcomes that continue to cement our belief that free digital skills training should available in every city, town and small community in New Zealand.
The Digital Inclusion Alliance Aotearoa (DIAA) aims to provide training resources that meet the needs of our partners and their community; adding Spark Jump to our list of modules over 18 months ago has given libraries the opportunity to add more digital services to their mix, and Spark Jump continues to grow in leaps and bounds as more people hear about this flexible low-cost internet service.
Our Digital On-Road Access bus, DORA, has been based on the West Coast for most of the year and will soon be moving to the Wairarapa to support a Digital Seniors programme. In 2019, we expect to see DORA return to the South Island; partners in Westport, Christchurch, Timaru and Dunedin have all expressed an interest in hosting her. We appreciate the funding support from Transpower and the Lottery Grants Boardthat has enabled us to give DORA a face-lift and upgrade the on-board technology.
